Dear Cricket,
Happy 4 month birthday! I don't even know where to begin Cricket girl. You continue to capture my heart more and more. You begin each day with a bright grin that makes my heart sing. You are still such a happy baby - full of joy and curiosity! People often ask us if you're always "this happy." Yes, you really are this happy most of the time!
This month you have grown so much! You've graduated to a baby tub and love to watch the water flow over your tummy. At your four month check up last week you weighed 12 pounds 9 1/2 ounces to be exact and are 24 inches long. You are two feet tall little munchkin! What an accomplishment! You still have a wee little head at 15 inches around. It is so adorable and verrry kissable!
To our happy surprise you are a very social baby. Quiet and observant, you don't demand attention, but you love to watch people. You smile and watch and enjoy seeing the action of the world around you. We love to take you out and about. You've seen your first Van Gogh and heard Alison Krauss + Union Station live. A couple weeks ago we took you to the Canal to listen to them play nearby. As Jerry Douglas' dobro rang out you watched us intently then fell off to a sweet slumber. Your daddy and I continued to enjoy the summer night, listening, talkng and sipping on our Mug N Bun root beer. It was perfection with you by our side!
You can thank your daddy for your four month pictures (and Grandpa Ed for the wagon and gorgeous backdrop, and the Rinehart family for your pretty dress). I think they turned out splendidly!
This month you have found your arms and legs and are moving them all about. You absolutely love to be held up so you can stand on your legs. You are very proud of those legs and we are very proud of you! You love to be held up under your arms and tossed gently up and down. I don't think it looks very comfortable, but you are in happy land and that is what matters!
I love you so much little Cricket! Each day truly feels like Christmas morning. I love to see your personality take shape. You reach for toys that spark your interest and love to play. You are still very snuggable and smile when I kiss your sweet face (which is ALL the time!). Your daddy and I just love to watch your wiggle and roll and then scoop you up for a love fest.
We thank God for your every day, little girl. You have brought a joy and contentment to my life that I never knew before. You are special, unique and sweet as pie! We adore you Cricket!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful post Rachel. I am thinking that my granddaughter Maryn is doing about the same and that thought is exciting to me. I wish I could see a picture of her, but I have enjoyed your little cricket's photos. What a treasure she is, so happy and bright. Love her little legs sticking up in the air in the top photo, but most of all I love her sweet smile. It cheers my heart! xxoo
